Tēnā koutou katoa,
He uri nō Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāruahine ki Taranaki, Ngā Puhi.
Ko Georgia tōku ingoa.
I grew up in Titahi Bay and recently settled across the harbour in Whitby with my family of 6. I have 4 children aged 1, 3, 5 and 7 with my two eldest attending Discovery school.
Like many others we live a typical kiwi lifestyle with busy weekends full of children’s sports (rugby), traveling, visiting our whānau on the farm and creating rich experiences for our tamariki.
My background is in Education with a degree in Early Childhood, and creating and facilitating education projects for Māori students at NZQA before becoming a stay at home mother for the time being. I have a passion for education and believe all children should have a equitable chance to reach their full potential. Every learning facility in Aotearoa has a responsibility to be culturally responsive to the learning needs of Māori and Pasifika children and I hope to be able to contribute to this also.
I look forward to playing my part in the all round progression and success of this awesome School.
