Kia ora,

I'm Laura Lumley and I have been a Discovery School parent since my son Cannan joined in August 2020. Originally from Waikanae, I settled in Whitby over 10 years ago after some time working and travelling overseas. I originally qualified in marketing communications and later completed a post graduate diploma in public health.  

I have worked in regulation for most of the last 12 years, and I am currently working as Design & Implementation Manager for Building Performance at MBIE. I've worked in the public sector for the last four years, including as Private Secretary for the Minister for Building and Construction. I have previously been on the Mana Parents Centre Committee and am a member of the National Association of Women in Construction. 

In my spare time I enjoy snowboarding, touch rugby and kayaking.
